I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is really going ahead.
